ReGreen 2026

ReGreen will bring together 10 young people for a 21-day educational, practical, and social adventure in the Suderbyn Permaculture Ecovillage. Suderbyn is home to an international community of people who care about the environment, and who apply permaculture principles and voluntary simplicity in their everyday lives. The working days will include both theory and practice, enabling the volunteers to directly apply everything that has been learnt at a conceptual level. This means that we hope to provide you with skills and competencies that you can carry with you after your journey with us has ended. The project weaves together 3 themes over the course of 3 weeks: (1) Infrastructure-specific project: this year Suderbyn wants to work on improving our outside spaces. This includes the fire pit area and a potential sauna! This work will be done according to permaculture principles and as sustainably and naturally as possible, working in harmony with the land to meet our wants for more spaces to be together. (2) Permaculture: Volunteers will explore permaculture design principles and how they are being applied in our organic community garden. The tasks (foraging, processing, forest-garden care, weeding, harvesting...) will allow volunteers to come into closer connection with the land and its more-than-human inhabitants, as well as to develop a deeper understanding for the soil and the ecosystem, and the food the land provides. (3) Personal and group development with the social domain and the community’s NGO RELEARN. Condition of application: Participants must be between 18 and 30 years old, live in Europe or have a visa for staying in Europe during that period, and come to the island with green travel, meaning that flying to the island is not possible. Reminder that Suderbyn is a vegan community and you must be open to try out this diet and not consume any meat. Travel, rent and food are covered by the European Solidarity Corps programme. The participants will also receive pocket money.
